Aion 2 Spirit Master Guide: complete PvE build (skills, stigmas, gear)
Aion 2 Spirit Master PvE guide: specializations for every skill, spirits, passives, stigmas, stats, late game gear, Arcanas, Genus Insight, Daevanion and macro.
Introduction: the Spirit Master playstyle
Want to play Spirit Master in Aion 2 and be the best player in your group?
This Aion 2 Spirit Master guide gathers the whole build, step by step: playstyle, specialization of every skill, passives, stigmas, target stats, gear, Arcanas, Genus Insight, Daevanion and macro.
This guide is 100% PvE. The Spirit Master PvP build is coming soon to the site.
The Spirit Master is a ranged class. It chains skills and summons: its spirits fight at its side at all times.
- +High damage
- +Steady DPS
- +Ranged attacks
- +Can keep hitting during mechanics
- +Works very well with high ping
- −Fragile
- −Limited mobility (very few dashes)
Things to know before you start:
- Range is a real advantage. Many bosses have mechanics that let ranged classes keep hitting. The Spirit Master benefits from this in particular: its skills are ranged and its spirits keep attacking during mechanics.
- Some thresholds are mandatory. Several skills and stigmas only become truly effective at a specific level. Details are in each card below.
Understanding specializations
Each skill has 5 specialization lines, identified by a color: green, blue, yellow, orange and red. They unlock with the skill level.

- Level 8: lines 1 to 3, 1 specialization
- Level 12: 4th line, 2 specializations
- Level 16: 5th line unlocked
- Level 20: 3 specializations
How do you get a main skill to level 20? You add up 4 sources:
| Source | Levels gained |
|---|---|
| Base level | 10 |
| Daevanion | +4 |
| Arcanas | +4 |
| Gear (rings) | +2 |
| Total | 20 |
Remember this rule: 4 points from Daevanion, 4 points from Arcanas, 2 points from gear. It applies to the 3 main skills: Combustion, Summon: Fire Spirit and Elemental Fusion.
Active skills
For each skill, here are the specializations to activate depending on its level. The colored dot shows the matching line in game.
CombustionMain skill
A main skill to level to 20. It hits up to 4 enemies and increases your Skill Speed.
Summon: Fire SpiritMain skill
Your strongest spirit. This is the one that must stay on the field.
The yellow line gives a 10% chance to trigger the skill on each Fire Spirit attack.
Two ways to play the Fire Spirit: at level 16 or at level 20. It all depends on the points you give it from Arcanas and rings. Follow the line that matches its level.
Elemental FusionMain skill
The third main skill, and the very core of your damage. Each spirit skill gives you an element. At 4 elements, Elemental Fusion unlocks for a big hit.
Summon: Water Spirit
Level it to 16. No need to go all the way to 20.
Summon: Earth Spirit
Level it to 16.
Rapid Scattershot
Worthwhile at level 16.
Cold Shock
An important skill, but level 12 is enough. No need to level it to 20.
Jointstrike: Curse
Level 12 is enough.
Dimensional Control
Level 12 is enough.
Defiance
Level 12 minimum. Tenacity makes you immune to crowd control.
Passives
Some passives are essential, others much less so. Here is the ranking.
| Tier | Passive | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | PvE Damage Boost and Perfect Chance, for you and your spirits. The #1 passive. | |
| 1 | More Double Chance | |
| 3 | Critical Damage Boost for you and the spirit, stacks 5 times | |
| 4 | Reduces summon cooldowns and heals the spirit | |
| 5 | Critical Hit and bonus damage on critical hit |
- The first 3 (Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification) should be leveled as high as possible. They are also the 3 passives to look for on gear.
- The rest: spread your remaining points.
Stigmas
Stigmas are special skills that boost your character. At launch, you will only have 4 slots. Each stigma gains a line every 5 levels (5, 10, 15 and 20).
Priorities:
- Summon: Ancient Spirit: the most important. At least level 15, level 20 as soon as possible.
- Jointstrike: Corrode: level 5 minimum.
- Enhance: Spirit’s Benediction: only useful from level 10, then level 20.
- Flame Blessing: level 15 minimum.
Summon: Ancient Spirit
It deals a huge amount of damage. Level it as high and as fast as possible.
Jointstrike: Corrode
Level 5 is enough for its key line.
Enhance: Spirit’s Benediction
It strengthens Spirit Strike, your main passive. Worthless before level 10.
Flame Blessing
Level it to 15 minimum for its Critical Damage Boost bonus.
Target stats

As with almost every class, Attack dominates. Look for plenty of Might: this stat increases your Attack as a percentage (Attack Increase).
Then, 4 divine stats make the difference:
- Destruction [Zikel]: increases Attack.
- Wisdom [Lumiel]: increases Double Chance.
- Time [Siel]: increases Combat Speed.
- Illusion [Kaisinel]: reduces cooldowns, so your buffs come back more often.
Where to find them? On the Pantheon artworks and on abyssal bracelets.
Late game gear
The target gear is the crafted Splendent Ebony Dragon Lord set, the most expensive in the game. Every piece is at max enhancement (+20) with max potential.
The golden rule of Soul Binding
Each piece has random stats: the Soul Binding. On armor and jewelry, 3 passives always come back: Spirit Strike, Mental Focus and Element Unification.
In the table, passives are in purple and active skills in blue.
Soul Binding by gear piece
| Piece | Mandatory lines | Optional | Philosopher’s Stone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orb (weapon) | Combat Speed, Damage Boost, Weapon Damage Boost, Multi-hit Chance, Might | – | Attack or Accuracy |
| Guard (off-hand) | Combat Speed, Damage Boost, Weapon Damage Boost, Multi-hit Chance, Might | – | Attack or Accuracy |
| Helmet | Double Chance, Attack Increase, Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification | – | Attack or Accuracy |
| Shoulders | Critical Damage Boost, Double Chance, Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification | – | Attack or Accuracy |
| Chest | Damage Boost, Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification | Perfect Chance or Accuracy | Attack or Accuracy |
| Pants | Attack Increase, Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification | Perfect Chance or Accuracy | Attack or Accuracy |
| Gloves | Combat Speed, Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification | Perfect Chance or Accuracy | Attack or Accuracy |
| Cape | Double Chance, Attack Increase, Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification | – | Attack or Accuracy |
| Boots | Movement Speed, Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification | Perfect Chance or Accuracy | Attack or Accuracy |
| Earrings (×2) | Movement Speed, Might, Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification | – | Attack or Accuracy |
| Necklace | Combat Speed, Might, Spirit Strike, Mental Focus, Element Unification | – | Attack or Accuracy |
| Rings (×2) | Might, Combustion, Summon: Fire Spirit, Elemental Fusion | Summon: Earth Spirit (ring 1), Summon: Water Spirit (ring 2) | Another skill (Rapid Scattershot, Cold Shock…) |
| Abyssal bracelets (×2) | Illusion [Kaisinel], Time [Siel], Wisdom [Lumiel], Destruction [Zikel] | – | Death [Triniel] (Critical Hit) or Freedom [Vaizel] (Accuracy) |
Accuracy or Critical Hit? Where they go on your gear depends on what you already have. Depending on your other sources (gear, Genus Insight, buffs), you may or may not need Accuracy, and may or may not need Critical Hit. Check your stats before choosing.
- Rings: with Summon: Earth Spirit on one and Summon: Water Spirit on the other, both spirits reach level 16 with Arcanas.
- Amulet and belt: not very important.

Manastones
On Superior Manastones, aim for the Ultimate tier:
- Damage Boost +100
- Weapon Damage Boost +100
- Critical Damage Boost +100
No Ultimate line? The best alternative is Attack +10.
The Accuracy line can make a big difference, especially early game. If you lack hit chance, it becomes a real option.
Theostones

The differences between Theostones are small. The best option: any Theostone with a 1% chance to deal big damage.
You hit very often, so that 1% triggers regularly. Example: Traufnir’s Courage, 1% chance to deal 10,000 fire damage.
Arcanas
Arcanas grant a divine stat and skill or passive levels. The goal: +4 on each main skill and as much as possible on the key passives. All cards are +5.
Optimization example
What matters is the final result. You can spread your points however you like across the cards.
| Card | Divine stat | Sub-skills |
|---|---|---|
| Chalice of Vigor (Grail) | Time [Siel] | Spirit Strike 4, Element Unification 2, Mental Focus 2, Summon: Fire Spirit 1 |
| Parchment of Vigor | Life [Yustiel] | Elemental Fusion 4, Summon: Fire Spirit 3, Summon: Earth Spirit 1, Dimensional Control 1 |
| Compass of Vigor or of Magic | Critical Hit or Accuracy, depending on your needs | Combustion 4, Summon: Water Spirit 2, Rapid Scattershot 2, 1 skill of your choice |
| Bell of Magic | Destruction [Zikel] | Spirit Strike 4, Element Unification 3, Spirit Communion 1, Spirit’s Descent 1 |
| Mirror of Magic | Wisdom [Lumiel] | Mental Focus 4, Corrode 2, Spirit Protection 2, 1 passive of your choice |
- Result: +4 on Combustion, Summon: Fire Spirit and Elemental Fusion. +8 on Spirit Strike, +6 on Mental Focus, +5 on Element Unification.
- Bell: what matters is Spirit Strike and Element Unification. The last two lines matter little.
- Compass: flexible split. You can switch to Summon: Water Spirit 2 and Rapid Scattershot 1. Then adjust your rings: one point too many on Water Spirit? Replace it on the ring with Rapid Scattershot. The last line is free (Soul’s Cry, Defiance…).
Wings
Two choices, depending on your goal:
| Wings | Main effect (equipped) |
|---|---|
| Forest Spirit Wings | Boss Damage Boost and Boss Attack |
| Dark Veil Wings | Damage Boost and Attack Bonus |
Genus Insight
Genus Insight is filled family by family (Cogni, Fera, Natura, Varian and Special). Each family has 9 slots, with the same pattern:
| Slot | Stat to take |
|---|---|
| 1 | Attack Bonus (otherwise Critical Attack or PvE Attack) |
| 2 | HP increase |
| 3 | Accuracy if you lack it, otherwise Critical Hit |
| 4 | PvE Damage Boost, Damage Boost or Critical Damage Boost. Special only: Double Chance |
| 5 | Attack Bonus (otherwise Critical Attack or PvE Attack) |
| 6 | Accuracy or Critical Hit |
| 7 | Critical Hit |
| 8 | HP increase |
| 9 | Accuracy or Critical Hit |
Pantheon
For artworks, always aim for the same 4 stats: Wisdom, Destruction, Time and Illusion. Life and the other stats are not a priority.
For statues, use what you have. The Kromede and Zikel statues are the priority for the stats they give.
Daevanion
Daevanion tops up skill levels. Take every golden node: these are the +4 on main skills and on key passives.
The rule is simple: take every skill and every passive, except two skills you should never level: Summon: Wind Spirit and Soul’s Cry.
| Skill | Target Daevanion bonus |
|---|---|
| All active skills (except Summon: Wind Spirit and Soul’s Cry) | +4 |
| All passives | +4 |
Rotation and macro
The rotation
The Spirit Master has no real rotation: everything goes through the macro.
- Hold right click and left click: auto-attack runs and the macro casts your skills as soon as they are ready.
- Let the chain handle the spirits: it summons Earth, then Water, then Fire. Since the first two are on cooldown, the Fire Spirit, your strongest spirit, is the one that stays on the field.
The skill chain is organized in 3 lines. The order within each line is very important. There are two options, depending on your hardware.
Option 1: in-game macro only
The 3 lines of the chain:
- Skill line: Elemental Fusion, Dimensional Control, Jointstrike: Curse, then Combustion.
- Spirit line: Summon: Earth Spirit, Summon: Water Spirit, Summon: Fire Spirit, then Jointstrike: Corrode.
- Stigma line: Flame Blessing, then Summon: Ancient Spirit.

The in-game macro contains Elemental Fusion and Summon: Earth Spirit: it repeats the skill line and the spirit line.

The stigma line is cast by hand. Prefer to automate everything? Add Flame Blessing to the macro. Your call.
Option 2: isolated Elemental Fusion (mouse macro)
Do you have a Logitech mouse, or any mouse with macro software? Remove Elemental Fusion from the skill line: it becomes a standalone skill.
- Skill line: Dimensional Control, Jointstrike: Curse, then Combustion.
- Spirit line and stigma line: same as option 1.

The in-game macro contains Dimensional Control and Summon: Earth Spirit. The principle is the same: it repeats the skill line and the spirit line.

Then create the macro in your software. Example with G Hub:
- Macro type: repeat while held.
- Keys: the in-game macro key (here `=`), then the Elemental Fusion key (here `^`).
- Save, then assign the macro to the empty button of your choice.

More details on macros in the Aion 2 Bible.
Conclusion
The Spirit Master is a comfortable class: high steady damage, at range, and spirits that keep hitting even during mechanics.
Key points to remember:
- Combustion, Summon: Fire Spirit and Elemental Fusion to level 20 first.
- Spirit Strike above all on gear and passives.
- Summon: Ancient Spirit leveled as fast as possible.
- The Fire Spirit summoned last in the skill chain.
- Might, Destruction, Wisdom, Time and Illusion as target stats.
